William (Bill) Westwood died following a brief illness on October 14th in Sebastian, Florida at the vibrant age of 90, born September 5th 1926.
Bill is survived by his children Cheryl (Jack) Todd, Sandra Briggs, Barbara (Randall) Friederich, Christine (Daniel) Herman, Bonnie (Marc Moeller) Melahn, Lori Westwood, and Dan (Andrea) Westwood; his sister-in-law, Dorothy French and brother-in-law Jim Tremel, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Jeanette and his son Steven.
Bill, an honored Navy veteran of World War II, was very happy to have celebrated his ninetieth birthday this past summer in Illinois with more than 60 loving family members. He will be cherished and missed by not only his family but by everyone who interacted with him. He will be remembered by his vibrant personality and his love for life. The only mistake he ever made was the one he thought he made.
He was always ready to make a cocktail whether it be a kiddie cocktail for the grandkids or one for himself to watch over the daily shenanigans of life. A true lover of life, friends and family.
The family plans to hold a private memorial service in the Florida Keys to celebrate Bill's life. The family would like to thank his doctors, the Sebastian Hospital staff and VNA Hospice of Indian River County for their care and dedication.
Seawinds Funeral Home is honored to serve the Westwood family.
