Obituary for Karen Holcomb

Karen Holcomb
Karen Elizabeth Holcomb, 72, of Sebastian, Florida went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.

She was born to the late Edward and Laura Lachowicz on June 18, 1944 in Montgomery, Alabama. Karen graduated Aberdeen High School in 1962. She married James Robert Holcomb on May 8, 1965 and relocated to Palm Beach County, Florida where she lived until 2016.

Karen was a dedicated wife as well as a loving mother and grandmother. She was an active member of her church. She worked tirelessly in an administrative capacity at various positions held during her career and retired from GeoSyntec Consultants in 2015.

Karen was an adventurer. Upon her graduation, one of the first jobs she held was at Aberdeen Proving Ground, where she obtained her pilot’s license at a young age. She loved whitewater rafting at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, and family outings nearly always involved the outdoors, for she truly appreciated nature.

Karen leaves behind her children, Robert Holcomb, of Sebastian, Florida and Daphne Jernigan, of Port St Lucie, Florida, her brother, Edward Lachowicz, of Orlando, Florida, one nephew, five grandchildren and many friends.
