Rita Roy passed away of a heart attack at age 70 on September 1, 2017 in Sebastian, Florida.
She was born in Fort Kent, ME on November 29, 1946 to Arthur and Germaine(Michaud) Corriveau of Sinclair. Germaine died on January 29, 2017 and Arthur died in 1996.
Rita was predeceased by her first husband, Sherman Theriault, in 1973. She was predeceased by her second husband Gilman Roy on August 24, 2017. Rita and Gilman were married 38 years. Rita took excellent care of Gilman as he suffered from COPD. She dedicated her life to serving others. She always looked for opportunities to help someone in need, the lonely and elderly, baked for others, knitted & crocheted for family and friends, did mending for others, and made blankets for her family. She enjoyed meeting people while having tag and estate sales. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and she was looking forward to being able to spend time with them. She never complained about trials and always counted her blessings.
Rita leaves behind many family members that are heart broken and will miss her tremendously. She has three daughters: Brenda Pelletier and husband Roger of Eagle Lake. They have three children: Nicholas & wife Abigail(their daughter Evangeline), Mathew and wife Amy(their son Grayson), and Jamie and husband Josh(their son Mason); Kim Pelletier and husband Todd of Bristol, CT, their two sons: Kevin and Andrew; Karen Huard and husband Keith of Arundel, ME. They have three children: Curtis, Amanda, and Meagan; Two stepdaughters: Mary Roy of Archdale,NC, and her three children: Tina & husband Chris(their children Claudia, Kasey, Rylie and Charlotte), Lori(predeceased)(her son Bradley), Suzanne & husband Mike(their children Sammy & Sadie); Gloria Pelletier and husband Pierre Pelletier of Pikesville, NC. Their three children: Amie & husband Rob (their children Madison & Payton), Nicole and husband Danny(their children Camden, Jake, & Koby), and Chantal and husband Jeff(their children Soleil, Roxie and Uriah)and one stepson, James Roy.
Rita was predeceased by oldest brother Bertrand Corriveau. Living siblings are: Mary Jane Picard, Gilbert Corriveau, Paul Corriveau, Joel Corriveau, and Jeanette Peterson. Many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Rita also had many friends in Florida that became her second family and were very dear to her and Gilman but are too numerous to name. Thank you to all of those who were a great support to the family at this very sorrowful time.
